Welcome to the New GwenCooper.com!
Welcome to the new and improved GwenCooper.com! I'm still in the process of updating the new site with plenty more photos and videos of all five cats (Scarlett, Vashti, Homer, Clayton, and Fanny!) to come over the next few weeks. (Yes! There will be new videos of Homer and the kittens!)
I'm also proud to announce what will become a regular feature on this site, Homer's Heroes! Each month we'll share the story of one extraordinary volunteer whose heroic efforts on behalf of animals in need help rescue-cats like Homer find their purrfect forever homes. Our inaugural Homer's Hero is Rachel Shubin, a good friend to Homer and me, and an even better friend to shelter cats in Virginia.
So poke around, click on some pages, leave your comments, and enjoy your stay here on GwenCooper.com! Don't forget to take a "sneak peek" at the first chapter of my next book, Love Saves the Day. The book won't be out until January 15th, but I'll have five free, advance, autographed copies to give away to five lucky readers this December--just in time for holiday gift-giving! Want to find out how you can be one of them? Check back right here tomorrow to learn how!
Thanks so much for stopping by. Homer Claws and I hope you and your families are all enjoying a happy, healthy holiday season! ;-)

Homer and his family
Homer, I have a sighted little black kitty who looks - and acts- a lot like you and he is the love of my life. I cried when I read the book your mom wrote about you, partly because your spirit is so moving, partly because I thought the writing was so heart-opening but mostly because to see a reflection of how I love my little guy in someone else' prose was beautiful. I think you are an amazing little person Homer and your parents' love for animals makes them closer to the angels.

purrfect idea for christmas
This is a wonderful idea. What this world needs right now is, above all, a good dose of gentleness and kindness, and that is exactly what you encourage, Gwen and Homer. Looking forward to seeing more of the site and perhaps even winning one of those books.

Hello Gwen and Homer
Very nice picture from Hommer. I'm writing you from France. I loved so much Homer's odyssey that I have pre ordered Love saves the day. I'm also a cat lover.
I'm waiting for your instruction tomorrow to learn how to be one of your lucky reader. I would be so proud to have one of your autographed copies. Big hugs from me and my two cat girls. -

Love the New Site!
I discovered the new site a few days ago as I regularly click to see if you have updated your blog. The layout plus the images on the new site are much more up-to-date and eye catching. I also read the excerpt from the new book and CAN"T WAIT to receive it as I already pre-ordered from Doubleday Book Club. I also bought 2 more copies of Homer's Odyssey to give as Christmas gifts as I am always thinking of more people with whom I want to share Homer's wonderful story. I am looking forward to following the blog in the new format and wish you and yours a happy holiday season.

Love Your New Site!!
Gwen, I have been a fan for a few years. I have followed you and your family ever since I read Homer's Odyssey and I have supported many of your worthy causes. I have someone I'd like to tell you about in my hometown that is helping cats in her own way. She is not with an organization, but she rescues cats & kittens from a couple abandoned barns in our area. She takes them in to her home, feeds them and takes them to the vet. She pays forall of this out of her our pocket and then looks for people to adopt them. I am not sure how many cats she has rescued, but I know of at least 8 so far.

The new website is wonderful.
Gwen, I love Homer's dignified picture in his festive outfit. I'm looking forward to your new book. I just got an iPad and am learning to use it and your book my be my first purchase for it. I would love, of course, the win one of the signed books. Hope I'm not too late. The best to you and Lawrence for the holidays. . . he is such a special person to join in with you in helping rescue and save cats. You are lucky to have each other. As I write this I have a companion in the chair with me. . . . our youngest, Ginger.
