Winners of the "Get LOVE SAVES THE DAY Out the Door with a Bang" Contest!
Many, many thanks to everyone who purchased a copy of LOVE SAVES THE DAY last week and entered the "Get LOVE SAVES THE DAY Out the Door with a Bang!" contest. I'm thrilled to be able to announce the following winners:
Third Prize: Autographed copies of LOVE SAVES THE DAY and Homer's Odyssey, plus one of the original photos of Homer (also autographed!) used to create the artwork for Homer's Odyssey, goes to Lynn Warry. Con-cat-ulations, Lynn! Homer and I are thrilled to have pawtographed books and a photo on their way to you now.
Second Prize: A portrait of your own cat, dog, horse, parrot, or any animal you call friend, by Sue Hains, the incredibly talented animal portrait artist who painted an absolutely stunning portrait of Homer, goes to Patricia Johnson. Patricia, I know you're going to be absolutely delighted with Sue's work. She has a real knack for capturing the inner spirit of an animal on the canvas.
And, finally, the Grand Prize Winner of an in-person visit from me plus a $500 to the animal-related charity of her choice is (drum roll please): Lisbeth Erikson of South Carolina! Hooray for Lisbeth! :D

Lisbeth has already graciously offered to donate her prize--both the donation and the visit from me--to the SPCA Albrect Center for Animal Welfare in Aiken. Which makes the SPCA the first officially-announced stop on my LOVE SAVES THE DAY tour, commencing this spring. The rest of my tour stops will be announced right here on GwenCooper.com on Thursday, February 14th! LOVE SAVES THE DAY this Valentine's Day, so stay tuned!
Many thanks again to everybody who entered, and if you weren't one of the contest winners, fear not! There will be plenty more contests in the weeks and months to come, plus a 15-city tour (and possibly more, because it's getting darn near impossible to choose among these shelters), during which I hope to meet many, many of you in purr-son.
Thank you again!

This was a wonderful contest. Hoping "Bobbi and the Strays" in Freeport, NY is on your list. Regardless, I will be at one of your readings. It was great to see you at the Word Bookstore last year. Great reading, great crowd!

That I LOVE about all of the people sharing their own wonder-cats on Homer's Facebook page is how many wonderful people have adopted the blind & not physically perfect cats! Amazingly wonderful Thank you Homer! And Gwen! Love really DOES save the day

Well Done Winners
* waves from New Zealand *
Gwen, I know your winners will be delighted. I love the book, I found it a delight and at times desperately sad and deeply moving. Prudence and her family are beautifully drawn characters who we grow to love - and we lament Honey's passing. -

The Velvet Paws Revolution on tour
Dear Gwen and Team,
What a brilliant and inspiring book tour. Everybody wins.
A & H win alot of good will with their sponsorship and product donations.
The No-Kill Shelters and their staff win greater recognition, a wider outreach, sorely needed donations, and a platform for their compassionate policies.
The fans get the possibility to meet Gwen and team, the shelter volunteers and workers, and EACH OTHER to swap stories, photos and addresses; and have a whale of a party doing it.
The media win by following this unique tour and loading up on heart warming stories to inspire their readers.
The publisher acquires a unique way to sell books.
And, Best of All, the animals win. Hey people, along with a stack of autographed copies of Homer's Odyssey and LSTD, why not take home a furry new family member, or two, or three?
And you, Homer Bear, you started this whole thing, turning your Mom into the Vaclav Havel of the "Velvet Paws Revolution". May you live long and prosper.
Credit where credit is due. (I'm looking at you, Gwen!)
100 cheers,
Kumo

Hoping I Get To See You!
We are already planning how to make a long car trip comfortable for me, and how to make a hotel stay, etc., feasible with my health problems, hoping that you will visit a city within driving distance of Elkhart, Indiana. All my fur children are rescuees and some of them have health problems, but each and every one of them has a huge heart full of 100% unconditional love for us, the humans lucky enough to have been chosen to share their lives. Their unanimous opinion is that Love Saves The Day is a purrfectly meowvelous book and keep asking me to read it to them again. I will probably do so many times because I agree with their assessment of the story. It's pure gold!
