Everyone’s heard about the refugee crisis in Europe as tens of thousands of survivors and asylum-seekers from the war-torn Middle East flood westward in search of safety for themselves and their families. But human crises are usually animal crises as well–and the plight of companion animals separated from their humans in all the chaos has received far less coverage.
Hopeful stories are hard to find amid all the turmoil. But every once in a while, a glimmer of hope appears. Kunush the cat was lost in Greece after his family’s escape from Iraq. His family was relocated to Norway before they were able to find him, and Kunush was left on his own. It seemed like a hopeless situation. But sometimes miracles do happen–and Kunush was lucky enough to be one of them. Check out this amazing story of survival and reunion below!
