Ballerina Cat Dances Like the Wind

Ballerina Cat Dances Like the Wind

Cats are poetry in motion--graceful, electric, and gorgeous.  While they may occasionally crack us up by failing to stick a landing while leaping onto a counter, or tumbling head-first off a window sill, more often our cats astonish us with the pure beauty of their movements and form.  Still, we were unprepared for these absolutely stunning photos--captured with a stop-motion camera while her humans were at work.  Dance like nobody's watching, kitty!  And we'll love you like we've never been hurt.  ;)

Bubba the Cat Loves School So Much He Has His Own Student ID Card

Bubba the Cat Loves School So Much He Has His Own Student ID Card

We remember a certain reluctance to get up for school back when we were young, but Bubba the Cat loves going to school more than anything else.  Bubba spends so much time at Leland High School in San Jose, CA, in fact, that he's been issued his own student ID card!

Meet Bubba

Gingers are known for their super-social dispositions, and Bubba's no exception.  He loves hanging out with the student body in the classroom and on the athletic field.  Like any cat--and unlike other "students"--Bubba considers it his prerogative to go where he wants, when he wants, even in in the middle of class and without a hall pass.  "If he wants to be excused, he doesn't raise his paw; he just meows," one administrator told the San Jose Mercury News.

Bubba's student ID card

Bubba's home is located directly behind the high school--so unlike those of you who had to walk two miles through the snow, uphill both ways, to get to and from school every day, Bubba's commute is a snap.  Maybe that's why he's always so punctual!

Always the first to arrive

Bubba, of course, always demands immediate pettings before he'll allow classes to begin.

"Pet me right MEOW!"

"Bubba's really social and has no fear," says Amber Marienthal, Bubba's human who adopted him in 2009.  "One teacher made the mistake of buying treats for him," she adds, noting that now Bubba waits by the teacher's door during class, meowing loudly for treats.

"We'd love him to do cap and gown in 2017," says Marienthal.  "That's the group that's been with him through [local middle school] Bret Harte and Leland."

Exercising the feline privilege of lying wherever he wants!

Moose Family Has Best Day Ever Thanks to a Homer's Hero

Temperatures have been soaring in Alaska, where the unseasonably warm weather is causing distress for some of the local wildlife population.  Fortunately for this mama moose and her calves, one kind-hearted homeowner Candice Helm  saw them wilting in the heat and did what she could to help them cool off.  The results are not only humane, but utterly adorable.
