We remember a certain reluctance to get up for school back when we were young, but Bubba the Cat loves going to school more than anything else. Bubba spends so much time at Leland High School in San Jose, CA, in fact, that he's been issued his own student ID card!
Gingers are known for their super-social dispositions, and Bubba's no exception. He loves hanging out with the student body in the classroom and on the athletic field. Like any cat--and unlike other "students"--Bubba considers it his prerogative to go where he wants, when he wants, even in in the middle of class and without a hall pass. "If he wants to be excused, he doesn't raise his paw; he just meows," one administrator told the San Jose Mercury News.
Bubba's home is located directly behind the high school--so unlike those of you who had to walk two miles through the snow, uphill both ways, to get to and from school every day, Bubba's commute is a snap. Maybe that's why he's always so punctual!
Always the first to arrive
Bubba, of course, always demands immediate pettings before he'll allow classes to begin.
"Bubba's really social and has no fear," says Amber Marienthal, Bubba's human who adopted him in 2009. "One teacher made the mistake of buying treats for him," she adds, noting that now Bubba waits by the teacher's door during class, meowing loudly for treats.

"We'd love him to do cap and gown in 2017," says Marienthal. "That's the group that's been with him through [local middle school] Bret Harte and Leland."
